This Kit includes 1 x SPIRO 710 Speaking Valve & its Shower Cap, 1 x SPIRO 702 HME(Heat Moisture Exchanger) for Tracheostomy Tube & its Shower Cap and 1 x 705 Tweezers. "SPIRO 710 Speaking Valve" with oxygen nipple is for spontaneous breathing tracheostomy users. Intended to allow the user to speak without the need for finger occlusion. Speaking Valve should only be used while the patient is awake & while resting or sleeping the patient should use the "SPIRO 702 HME(Heat Moisture Exchanger) for tracheostomy tube", which is included in this kit. "SPIRO 702 HME" can be used 24x7 even when the patient is asleep. The patient cannot speak using "SPIRO 702 HME" device, If the patient wants to speak he/she has to use the Speaking Valve. Shower caps for both the devices are included in this kit and can be used to cover the devices when the patient need to be given a bath. The tweezer included in the kit is used to pull out the dirty changeable filter from inside the main housing of both the devices and then new filters can be inserted. Both these devices also provide back pressure for other common body functions. The Changeable filter inside both the devices prevents the dust particles, flies & mosquitoes etc. from entering the respiratory system. The main valve housing for both the devices is reusable & washable and can be re-used multiple times. Only the Changeable filter inside needs to be changed when it comes in contact with bodily secretions like mucus, phlegm etc. The disposable speaking valves of other companies have to be thrown away once they come in contact with bodily secretions however SPIRO Speaking Valves & HME can be re-used after washing in normal plain water and changing the filter inside the main housing.
