KNL Water purifiers? purification stages: Stage 1) Pre- filter (fitted in PP Spun filter 10?) captures particles (clay, sand, dust, rust, color etc) those remain in size of 5 micron or above in raw water and then goes to sediment filter Stage 2) Sediment Filter 5 micron absolute: made from sediment cloth and polypropylene layers. Polypropylene is resistant to bacteria. The filter captures suspended matter such as sand, silt, loose scale, clay and organic material from the water and supplies clean water to carbon block filter and membrane Stage 3) Activated Carbon Block filter made from compressed carbon of 1000 IV, having high absorptions rate of impurities like chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, toxicity, smell and other harmful chemicals and then supplies chlorine free water to membrane Stage 4) NF40 membrane: TFC dry 100 gpd, pore size is 0.001 micron, reduces TDS between 40% to 50%, flux rate around 25 liters/hr and water wastage is around 55%, suitable for input water tds between 150 ppm to 350 ppm. Please note water molecule size is 0.000283 micron, water born bacteria/germs/viruses sizes remain between 0.027 micron to 5 micron & NF40 membrane pore size is 0.001 micron which is very much smaller than germs/viruses.
