OMEGA's Bio-Composter Bin Set | Indoor Compost Bin for converting Kitchen Food Waste into Rich Plant Compost | 22 Litre Bins with 3 Bricks of 900 Grams Each - Product Features
  • Step 1: Prepare brick: Take the brick out of the packaging and place it in a bucket or container with a flat bottom. Pour about 2 liters/0.5 gallon of water into the container and wait for the brick to absorb all the water. This may take around 6-8 hours. You should be able to run your hands or a garden tool through the mixture smoothly. Keep this mixture in a closed container or a sack(to retain moisture) for future use.
  • Step2: Composting bin We encourage our customers to use our 3-tier composting bin which is an effective and easy-to-use stackable set up that can even fit in tight spaces. This is designed to save space and reduce the need to bend down for each composting cycle. If not, you can use any well ventilated compost bin with lids or get a couple of 5 gallon/20 liter buckets and drill about 100 holes of 2mm diameter around the circumference, lids and bottom of the bucket. Place a saucer below the bucket
  • Step 3: Composting process: Into this bin, spread a 3/4 inch thick layer of the composting mixture at the bottom. Add in your organic waste in a 1 inch thick layer. Waste can be fruit and vegetable waste, eggshells, chicken bones, grass clippings, fish, meat waste, cooked food waste etc. If there are large pieces, cut them into smaller bits before putting it into the bin. Following that, add enough composting medium to cover the layer of waste in the bin. Close the composting bin with the lid.
  • Step 4: Once you have more waste to compost, repeat this process until the bin is full and then get started with the second bin. 1 brick should be able to compost about 8 - 10 kg of waste.
  • Step 5: Compost will be ready in 21 to 30 days. This can be used as fertilizer for your garden or can be used for the next cycle by mixing rds of this mixture with rd of fresh medium from Step 1. Ensure that the composting bin is in a dry area. Preferably garage or any place with shade.
  • **Note**: Occasionally, fruit flies may appear in the composting bin due to its natural organic processes. Over time, these flies will decompose along with the compost. If this is a concern, you can mitigate it by adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil or another strongly scented fragrance to deter the flies.
