Pet Food & Supplies : Birds
Birds need water and shade in the summer: most birds take regular baths in the summer to lower their body temperature. Access to clean and cool water is therefore a must. Spray water on the birds to keep their bodies cool. Cage placement is also very important. Do not place the bird in direct sunlight. The cooler the place, the better. You can always put a table fan in front of the cage to make it more comfortable.
Beware of Heat Stokes: Birds experience heat stroke, too. Watch for signs of heat exhaustion such as panting, weakness, inability to maintain balance, holding out the wings, lying on the cage floor, or showing signs of stress. If you see such signs, find a way to lower the temperature and be more comfortable for your bird.
